ABOUT PETER SISHTON
BIOGRAPHY
Peter was born in Nairobi, Kenya to Johnny and Muriel Sishton. His father was a navigator in the war, surviving a crash in Germany and earning the Caterpillar Club Medal. Peter moved around the world with his family, attending more than ten schools and living in over twenty houses. After university, he worked in various career guidance and educational positions, eventually becoming a freelance consultant.
A health scare in 2014 prompted him to make major changes, including moving to Greater Manchester and initiating a divorce. Despite vision problems, he traveled to India, Sri Lanka, the Canary Islands, France, and Spain to research manholes and grids for his book "Heavy Metal: A Tribute to Manholes" and accompanying exhibition "FunkistKunst Heavy Metal".
